Chief Secretary A Bandopadhyay said that we are taking strict steps to stop the epidemic from spreading from 6 am on Sunday to 6 pm on 30 May.
He said that all government and private offices, shopping complexes, malls, bars, sports complexes, pubs and beauty parlors would remain closed during this period. No private vehicles, taxis, buses, metro rail, suburban trains are also allowed during the 15-day lockdown.
He also said that petrol pumps would remain open and essential services such as milk, water, medicine, electricity, fire fighting, law and order and media would not come under the purview of this ban. E-commerce and home delivery services will be approved.
